So, why the horse?

MARE-CHAL

Our family name - and the brand name- is originally from France. Apparently, when Napoleon came and ordered everyone to take a surname (based on each profession) - our lineage was from royal horse keepers. Since MARE (probably) means royal and CHAL means horses.

SUSTAINABILITY

That was one explanation, the other is that we are descendants of a "Maréchal", which is a field marshal or general of an army. Pacifistic as we are, we'll just go with the royal horse keeping story.

The horse for us is a symbol of pure sustainability. Such an awesome force of nature, that needs nothing else than some water and green grass. Nothing beats true horse powers! Also, in chess the horse is the most strategic piece. As a Marchal, maybe we do have some war mentality after all...
